Anti-Culture

Romans 12:2 "Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind and your Spirit."

Today we live in a culture that is all about "Me, Myself and I".  There's a lack of accountability, forgiveness, mercy, kindness, compassion you name it.  This culture is moving further and further away from Christ.  This culture is so "Hell-bent" on doing the opposite of what the Word of God tells us.  We even have pastors, or so-called "Pastors", that are now refuting the Bible, saying "It's not the true Word of God" or "Jesus is the Word of God NOT the Bible" etc.  The Bible does say that there would be a great Falling Away from the faith it's just that we're living in that time right now.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:13-16 that we are the Salt and Light of the world.  Basically we are to stand out and show people the way we are to live and whom to serve.  Unfortunately, we have a culture of Christians that have been deceived into believing that we are to be a bridge to world not a light.  I've seen some church "about us" pages and they always say something like "Let's be a bridge culture" or "bridging the gap" or something similar along those lines.  Being a bridge to culture just means they're riding the fence.  Think about it, one foot is in the culture and the other is in the Kingdom...that's a bridge.  God never called us to be a bridge to culture/the world.  He wants us to be set apart or Live Holy.  Not perfect but Holy.  This is why being "Anti-Culture" is imperative when it comes to the Christian faith.

Now being "Anti-Culture" doesn't mean being against Cultural things. For example; I love Japanese culture, meaning, I like their fashion, their food, Anime, language, etc.  I'm Anti- "the behavior/customs of the world" which is always against God.  That's what it means to be "Anti-Culture".   All it means, is being against the sinful patterns of this world that go against the things of God.  This world, as it says in Isaiah 5:20 "the world will call evil good and good evil...". Being "Anti-Culture" says we call Good Good and Evil Evil. 

I want this movement to not just be something that goes against culture for culture sake but to truly change people's hearts on who & what they identify as. Especially us as Christians, we are to only identify through Christ.  It appears that we have fallen into the trap of Political Identity, Race Identity, Gender Identity or Sexual Identity.  Galatians 3:28 says, "There is neither Jew nor Gentile neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  That's what being Anti-Culture really is about.  Turning against the world and moving towards God. Identifying through him and not this world.

If you're someone that is seeing this world/culture fall apart because of Evil leadership, terrible policies, blatant disregard for truth & life, no respect for elders or authority and this crazy obsession over race and you want to be bold but don't know how to say it aloud, represent this statement on you and let people know you're a follower of Christ and you will not participate in the things of this world. Even if you're not a Christian or consider yourself "religious" this is for you too! This is to let people know boldly that you are against what society is calling "Expectable" or "New Normal".
